John Freeman Meader, son of son of Jesse E. Meader (1802-1881) [0147] and Hannah York (b.1811), was born April 14, 1841 and died April 1, 1870 in Visalia, Tulare, CA. He had been in the West for about five years, fifteen months of which he spent in California in search of health. He was under the care of a physician, having dropsy of the chest. He improved during the first month, then took a violent cold and died.
